Hastings High School Men’s Basketball program will honor and recognize former head coach Rick Sherley on December 9, 2014.  This ceremony will begin before their game against Alief Taylor.  Rick Sherley was head basketball coach at Hastings from 1977 until his retirement in 2002.  Coach Sherley's career record was 702-260.  In 2000, he was honored to coach in the McDonalds All-American game in Boston and in 2008 was inducted into the Texas High School Basketball Hall of Fame.
