After struggling against very good pitching early in the tournament, Capital City turned it around at the plate and in the field to finish pool play strong.
After losing to the Nogales Roadrunners 6-1 on the first night, in a game that was closer than the score (1-1 going into the 5th). Capital City rebounded to tie the BBC Generals 9-9 in a miraculous comeback 7th inning.
Needing to win and hold the Arizona Xpress to less than 5 runs, Capital got a great pitching performance from Jordan Barchus and Jackson Sipes to march on into bracket play with the 8-3 victory and finish pool play with a 1-1-1 record. |
