NMB lost to St. James on Tuesday, November 3 at Myrtle Beach High School field 5 -2. Stephen Butler started and pitched 3 innings, Jason Ritter and Billy Ferguson each pitched 2 innings. Bill Seddinger hit a gapper for a double late in the game for the offensive highlight of the game.
NMB defeated Waccamw on Thursday, October 29 at Coastal Carolina field 10 - 7. Steven Gerardi and Billy Ferguson each pitched 3 innings with Jason Ritter closing out the last inning. Several errors in the field allowed 6 unearned runs by Waccamaw, otherwise a great pitching performance by NMB allowing only 4 hits and not many hard hit balls. Offensively the Chiefs hit really well. Gerardi had two hits including a bases clearing triple late in the game. Ferguson added a single and double. Stephen Butler contributed a couple of hits. Many other Chief players contibuted hits and many great at bats.
NMB gave away a close game to Socastee on Wednesday, October 21 at Coastal Carolina field by the score of 5 - 4. Several errors allowed a couple of Socastee runs. Otherwise, the Chiefs received good pitching performances from Jason Ritter, Steven Gerardi, Stephen Butler, and Billy Ferguson. Stephen Butler lead the game off with a gapper to the left center field wall for a double. Billy Ferguson had a couple hits on the night and a great night in the field making several great plays at shortstop.
NMB beat St. James 7 - 6 Wednesday, October 7 at Coastal Carolina field. The game was won in the bottom of the seventh as Lucas Ray executed a perfect suicide squeeze bunt to score Michael Donohue.
NMB played Waccamaw to a 5 - 5 tie on Thursday, October 1 at Coastal Carolina field. However, the game was called off in the bottom of the 7th with bases loaded for NMB and our #3 hitter Billy Ferguson at the plate. NMB pitchers Jason Ritter, Stephen Gerardi, Stephen Butler, and Lucas Ray pitched well for the Chiefs. Many Chiefs contributed with singles, but a key double down the line with runners on second and third by Michael Donohue got things going.
NMB played Socastee on Tuesday, September 29 at Coastal Carolina's baseball field. NMB struggled to a 12 - 5 loss. Steven Gerardi went 2-4 with a triple off the left center field wall.
NMB began their fall developmental league on Tuesday, September 22, 2009, with a 10-8 win over Myrtle Beach. The game was played at St. James High School. Jacob Moore, Lucas Ray, and Billy Ferguson each pitched 2 innings with Steven Gerardi closing the final inning to get the save. Billy Ferguson earned the win. At the plate, Billy Ferguson went 3-4 with a husseling double and 2 stolen bases. Jason Ritter went 2-3. Steven Gerardi went 2-4 with 2 stolen bases. Many other Chief players contributed key hits and stolen bases during the game including Stephen Butler, Trenton Smith, and Lawrence Long. |
