MOUNT VERNON — Kyle Gerlach’s 145 yards on 30 carries paced Mount Vernon to a 26-8 win over Gregory on Friday night.

Gerlach scored on TD runs of 2 and 6, the former of which helped the Mustangs take a 12-8 lead in the second quarter. Kody Weiss added 82 yards on seven carries and a TD, which capped scoring in the fourth quarter. Cody Poland led Mount Vernon’s defense with eight tackles.

Mount Vernon (3-3) hosts Hanson on Friday.

Gregory was led by quarterback Mat Braun, who helped the Gorillas to an early lead with a 23-yard TD run. He finished with 28 carries for 111 yards.

Gregory (3-3) welcomes South Central on Friday.
