| WHITE LAKE - A tremendous 285-yard outing from Zane Nightingale propelled White Lake-Plankinton to a 22-6 win over Mount Vernon in high school football action on Friday.
Nightingale scored on runs of 4, 27 and 75, carrying the ball 32 times for the Warriors, also scored a safety in the second quarter. Teammate Brandon Hanten had 68 yards rushing and 14 tackles to go with two interceptions. Jacob Kirsch had seven tackles for WLP (4-2), who go to Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan on Friday.
Mount Vernon got a 1-yard touchdown run from Tim Deinert in the second quarter. Deinert finished 8-of-22 passing for 123 yards. MV running back Kyle Gerlach had 74 yards on 17 carries, also posting a game-high 20 tackles. The Mustangs (2-3) host Gregory on Friday. |
