Facing a defense with six players that have commitments to top college programs like LSU and Texas A&M, K.C. Nlemchi and Cinco Ranch was ready for the challenge that the Clear Springs defense presented to them.
The senior back helped the Cougars rally from a 14-6 halftime deficit to win 38-35 Saturday night at Rhodes Stadium. Nlemchi ran for 158 yards and four touchdowns without his starting quarterback and his fullback. Quarterback Kyle Meloy did not play in the game with a shoulder injury, and running back Jamel James played only the first half before leaving with a bruised leg.
Nlemchi and backup quarterback Justin Sawyer helped the Cougars to move the ball against a tough Charger defense that many felt were the best in the state, if not the nation.
