TRIPP — Tim Deinert threw for four touchdowns and had a hand in two PAT conversions to lead Mount Vernon to a 36-6 win over Tripp-Delmont/Armour in a high school football game Friday in Tripp.

Deinert’s scoring passes covered 13, 7, 42 and 14 yards. Kyle Gerlach and Kody Weiss both had two touchdown receptions for the Mustangs.

Also for Mount Vernon, Gerlach had 114 yards rushing on 14 carries and Cote Hinker had 39 yards on five carries. Deinert passed for 93 yards, going 5-of-9. Defensively for Mount Vernon, Brian Vermeulen had six tackles.

For TDA, Riley Lau had 62 yards passing, going 9-of-18, and Josh Nichols had 29 yards rushing. Defensively, Nichols and Rau both had 11 tackles.

Mount Vernon, which led 30-0 at halftime, improves to 1-2 on the season. Tripp-Delmont/Armour is 0-2.
