PARKSTON — The Mount Vernon 15-16-year-old teener baseball team beat Parkston 7-4 Monday.

Brian Vermeulen pitched all seven innings for Mount Vernon. He allowed eight hits, two earned runs, three walks and he struck out three.

Nate Zens was 1-for-3 with a triple and an RBI, Cam Deinert went 2-for-4 with an RBI and five players had one hit apiece.

For Parkston, Ryan Weber was the losing pitcher. He threw four innings, allowing four hits, two earned runs and two walks. He also struck out two.

Offensively for Parkston, which won the 13-14-year-old game 5-1, Miles Mogck and Keegan Heisinger each went 2-for-4.

Mount Vernon (16-2) plays at Plankinton today.
