When Retro Fitness owner Hollie Gagliardi decided to put 2 teams in the Palmer Summer Coed League you knew that a rivalry would grow quickly.  Well it came to a head on Friday night in the finals of the "B" Flight Playoff Championships with the Mavericks (Retro 1) winning it all over their sister team the Ghost Riders (Retro 2).

The Mavericks rolled through the playoffs with 2 decisive wins first beating a tough Washburn's team and then the Ghost Riders by a score of 18-8 in the finale.  They were led by the great pitching of Diane Dougherty and sparkling defense of Justin Gross.  Team captain Bill Hickman ran a smooth ship throughout the playoffs and added some punch with 2 key homeruns.

The Ghost Riders who also deserve a lot of credit were on quite a roll knocking off Service Tire Truck Center and then the regular season champions, the Holy Molars.  They just ran into a buzzsaw made-up of players they know all too well.
