As the 2010 Chelmsford Merchant season approaches, we will see some familiar faces hit the field, but a good amount of newcomers with help fill out the roster. A number of those fresh faces will be seen on the mound hoping to help the team win a CNEBA Title.

   Ronnie Wallace, UMass       Adam Keenan, Franklin Pierce     Michael Calzetta, ULowell

Ron Wallace, a Freshman RHP at UMass Amherst will look to make a big impact in the starting rotation this summer with the Merchants. The 5-10 native of Tewksbury, MA has seen limited action at UMass this spring, but has a 3 inning relief appearence against Oklahoma State garnering 2 k's.

Adam Keenan, a Freshman LHP at Franklin Pierce University, has so far 6 K's, 1 BB, 6.23 ERA in 4.1 IP with the Ravens this spring. He will look to work both as a starter and reliever this summer with the Merchants. Both Keenan and Wallace were teammates on Lowell Legion Post 87.

Michael Calzetta, a high school senior at Lawrence High School has signed a national letter of intent to play at UMass Lowell next spring. One of the top recruits in Massachusetts, Calzetta was a 2009 Merrimack Valley Conference Player of the Year, Eagle Tribune MVP sophomore and junior year, Globe All-Scholastic Player, and named MaxPrep.com top recruit in Massachusetts. Already this spring, he is 2 - 0 with wins over Central Catholic and Tewksbury.
