GREGORY — Mat Braun had 124 rushing yards on 20 carries and also threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to Devin Schell Friday to help Gregory hand Mount Vernon a 16-12 loss, its first of the season.

Gregory got on the board with a safety in the first quarter before Braun added a 46-yard touchdown run. Gavin Pochop added 48 yards on the ground in the Gorillas’ win, while Steven Petersen had a team-high 11 tackles. Pochop and Brock Sinclair had 10 tackles apiece.

Robbie Kazi caught a 48-yard touchdown pass from Brian Kluth and also scored on a 1-yard touchdown run for Mount Vernon, which fell to 5-1. Kazi had 26 carries for 108 yards and Kluth threw for 85 yards.
