Riels 2 vs Knights 0  Fri. Feb.14, 2014

FIRST PERIOD

Riels opened the scoring late in the first period at 14:29 when Russell Trudeau scored his 33^rd goal of the season beating Knights net minder Bryan Tait with assists from Brian Michiels and Michael Gorrie.  That was all the scoring in the first period.  Riels out shot the Knights 15-8.

SECOND PERIOD

This game was end-to-end tight checking on both sides.  Each team making sure not to make any mistakes.  One goal again at 14:57 of the second frame when Sean Christensen slammed a rebound past Bryan Tait to make it 2-0 Riels with help from Brian Michiels and Russell Trudeau.  Shots on goal in the second were 13-13.  Riels played a solid defensive game for both periods.  Ryan Brown was very calm and steady throughout both periods.

THIRD PERIOD

Riels held the lead after two, but came up a little calm in the third playing very tentative allowing the Knights to take the play.  Riels net minder Ryan Brown played solid in the third making key saves and keeping the Knights off the board.  It was a big game for the Riels and a great game for Ryan Brown.  A big shut out stopping 38 shots, 17 in the 3^rd period.  Knights out shot Riels 17-10 in the third.  Overall 38-38.  Knight’s goal tender Bryan Tait had a great game as well.  Riels next game Friday, Feb. 21^st at Eric Coy vs the Hawks.
