Posted May 15/12 - 5000 Make Club

For all Boys 4th – 12th grades

Sauk Prairie's Basketballs Club’s 5,000 Make Program is a chance for you to improve your shooting skills over the summer giving you a goal you can achieve.  This year we have changed the focus from shots attempted, to shots made.   Record the number of shots made each day over the course of the summer is all it takes to become a member of the 5,000 make program.  If you start shooting in June and finish on September 30 that’s just 313 shots made a week or less than 45 shots made a day.  When you break it down it shouldn’t take you more than 20 minutes a day to get up 45 quality makes.  So grab a teammate and get it done.  You Can Do It!

Attached is a ledger for boys entering 4th – 12th grade that would like to participate in the Sauk Prairie Basketball Club 5,000 Make Club Program.  Simply fill in the form and have your parents submit results at the end of each month to spbasketballclub@gmail.com. The results can be tracked on the saukprairiebasketball.com website.  Follow your results and those of your teammates to help each other reach 5,000 makes.

·                     Official starting date is June 1 (you can start before then).  Ending date is Friday, September 30.
·                     Have your parent(s) / guardian initial each week.
·                     Total the number of makes at the bottom of the sheet each month and have your parent’s submit the totals to the club email.

Posted Apr 16/12 - 6th Grade places 11th at State

On April 14th and 15th 2012, Sauk Prairie 6th Grade boys basketball team played in the Wisconsin State Invitational Championship Tournament in Ashwaubenon, West De Pere, De Pere and Wrightstown.  After going 2-1 in pool play Sauk Prairie was seeded #3 from their pool in the round of 16.  Sauk Prairie lost to New Berlin Eisenhower but had an overall ranking high enough to be placed in the 9th-12th placed games.  The next day Sauk Prairie played a hard fought game against Pewaukee down to the last shot.  Sauk Prairie took the lead with a 3 point shot with 12 seconds left.  Pewaukee regained the lead after a tipped long pass led to a lay-up.  After a timeout with 5 seconds left, Sauk Prairie had a good look at another 3 pointer that rimmed out.  Sauk Prairie finished strong in the last game against Catholic Memorial and avenged a loss for the high school team that saw a Catholic Memorial team at state in 2010.  The team finished with a record of 3-3 and a 11th place finish.  Division 2 included 24 teams from across the state attending this year's tournament.
