Notes:
Game 2 of the series, didnt dissapoint. Whitey got the start for Plato on the mound, gave up a run in the 1st on a error. 2nd inn, walked the bases loaded but battled to only give up 1 run. 2-0 Cards. 3rd inn Erics ground out scores Johnson 2-1 4th inn, 1 out, slater walks, Dean doubles, Jake pinch runs for Slater at 3rd. Johnson hits a fly ball, Jake has a great slide at the plate to just beat the throw, 2-2 Whitey found his groove on the mound setting down the next 14 out of 16 hitters. Bottom 8th after a lead off hit, the cards bunt. Then Tony enters game, then an error, then a balk to score go ahead run, then a error to put Cards up 4-2. Top 9th, Menard leads off with a Home Run, Ode singles, Eric grounds out, Lang grounds out, 2 outs 0-2 count, Boomer singles up the middle to score Ode. game tied at 4-4 Bottom 9th, lead off walk, then a fly out, then a single. 1st & 2nd, 1 out. Ode takes over for tony. a Wild pitch advances runners to 2nd & 3rd, then a sac fly wins the game for the Cards, setting up an exciting game 3 in Young America Sunday at 2pm. Seemed like more but Plato left 12 runners on base. Whitey settled down to throw a great game giving up just 1 ER in 7 1/3 inn. At the plate Ode had 2 hits.
