Well this was an interesting day and game. The Bluejays scrambled to find enough guys to play, EE walked in just as the game was getting under way, and Cody took like 5 warm ups and off we went, GAME ON! 0-0 till the 3rd when the wheels came off the Bruins wagon a bit.... 3rd Inn. Nixy reached on an error to start, then an out, Smothers hit a grounder that was thrown away, Stones hit a grounder that was thrown away, Nixy Scored, Nick stole 2nd, throw into center Smothers scored, Bluejays up 2-0. 4th inn Deano Walks to start, Boomer singles, Tony singles to load em up. Nixy singles, Dean scores, Ditty hits FC, Boomer scores. Bluejays now up 4-0. Bottom 5th. Brownton starts with infield single, another single, then throwing error, run scored, another error, and 2 more hits, Bruins get 3 runs, but leave runners on 2nd & 3rd. Top 6th Like good teams do, the Bluejays answer right back. 1 out, Tony walks, then another out, Ditty hits a blooper, Tony takes 3rd and bluffs to run home, the OF throws home allowing Ditty to take 2nd. Then with 2 stikes, Smothers comes through with a 2 out 2 RBI single to make the score 6-3 Plato. Tony came in and shut the door the rest of the way. Plato didn't use much energy, but did just enough to get the win by coasting the last 3 inns. Plato will begin to get some college kids back in the next week, as we are still down 3-4 starters. On the hill, Cody moves to 3-0, and will take next weekend off for fishing....Tony got another 4 inn save. At the plate EE, Tony and Smothers each had 2 hits. |
