Notes:
You can tell that the season is very early, both teams showed rust and both teams were not at their best. For the 2nd str8 game Plato gets only 2 hits but most important gets their 2nd win. Ben Smothers returned back from college just in time. Tyler Lang singled in Smothers in the top of the 12th to put Plato up to stay. Boomer walked with the bases loaded to add an insurance run. Cody Harms got the start and went a solid 5 inns, only giving up 1 ER on a HR to C. Schultz. Tony threw his 1st couple inns of the early season. With the winning run on 3rd with 2 outs in the 8th, Boomer went with Smothers to get us out of the inn. Ben battled through some inns and escaped many jams, and intentionally walked a couple here and there, but didn't surrender a run and got the win on the hill. JB caught a liner at SS and stepped on 2nd to end the game. FYI, for stats on this website, all (hit by pitch) are counted as walks, so the stats may be deceiving. This includes out batting and pitching. But when turned into the CRVL they are not counted that way. |
