A couple of powerplays in the second got Midale on the board and they never really looked back. The Bruins put up a valliant e ffort and making their opposition work for everything they got. The real story of the game was Cody Dumaine as he held the Bruins in the game while being outshot 18-4 in the first period with many of the stops spectacular . He continued to play strong in the second facing facing 23 shots. The third was more even as the shots were just 9-8 in favor or the opposition. \n\nKevin Taylor scored the only goal for the Cougars tipping home a Jeff Murray point shot.\n\nPaul Thompson made his debut on defense due to lack of bodies.\n\nMidale scored 3 powerplay goals as Rick was back in control of special teams.\n\nStats guy Dwayne missed another game as does not seem to like to go on the road. Not a real good job by the far away youngster\,but the Bruins have to feel good about staying in there and getting the victory.\n\nBruins had a full lineup + a gain which is a good sign although the coaches struggle having to sit play ers. DESCRIPTION:The Pierson Bruins scored their first victory of the 2010/11 ex hibition season in Carnduff Friday night with a convincing 6-3 victory.\n \nPierson got on the board early as they scored on their first chance with Shane Goforth knocking home a Mike Kinsley slapper to open a early 1-0 le ad. Carnduff tied it half way through the period but a Scott Cole inside o ut deke put the Bruins up 2-1 heading into the middle frame. Shots in the first period were 13 for the Red Devils and 8 for the Bruins. The second p eriod was a good one for the visitors as they scored 2 unanswered goals\, one on the powerplay by Jason Bird\, and the eventual game winner by Tyson Roblin. Shots in the period were 11 for the Red Devils and 14 for the Bru ins. Pierson and Carnduff alternated goals in the final period. Robbie Mur ray deflected in his first goal of the preseason off a Jeff Murray slap pa ss and Kinsley rounded out the scoring on the night for the Bruins as he c onverted off a goal mouth scramble to send the visitors home with the 6-3 win.
