Also I know this doesn't apply to any of our players, but this went out in an e-mail recently so FYI:
"There have been some tobacco use sightings this year. Just as a reminder as to what the rule is, I have copied it word for word below for everyone to read, understand and comply as this is NOT a rule to be ignored and thrown aside as unimportant. The umpires have also been informed to crack down on this as well. The rule goes as follows;
4.06.1 THAT the use of all tobacco products, including smokeless tobacco, by all on-field participants (players, coaches, managers, umpires, etc.) be prohibited at all competitions sanctioned by Baseball Canada, PENALTY: Automatic ejection from the game.
This does not mean a warning shall be issued first, but rather we catch you and you are out of the game. On that note, if anyone has a tin in their pocket or somewhere else noticeable on their person, they will be asked to store it somewhere on the bench where it is not in sight (i.e. bag, jacket etc.).
