PGSBL POST GAME AND PRACTICE

CLEAN-UP/LOCK UP ROUTINE

POST GAME/PRACTICE CLEAN UP IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE HOME TEAM EACH NIGHT

FAILURE TO COMPLETE THE LOCKUP WILL RESULT IN A $50 TEAM FINE TO BE TAKEN FROM TEAM BOND

DAILY LOCKUP ROUTINE:

  • ALL BASES PUT AWAY AND PLUGS INSERTED INTO BASE ANCHORS

  • MOUND RAKED, TAMPED, AND TARPED

  • HOME PLATE RAKED, TAMPED, AND TARPED

  • FIELD LIGHTS OFF (LATE GAME)

  • BATHROOMS LOCKED AND SECURE

  • WORKSHED LOCKED AND SECURE

  • ALL GATES LOCKED AND SECURE

IT IS BOTH TEAMS’ RESPONSIBILITIES TO CLEAN UP THEIR OWN DUGOUT GARBAGE.

DOUBLE HEADERS:

IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF BOTH FIRST GAME TEAMS TO PREPARE THE FIELD FOR THE SECOND GAME

Ground Rules:

  1. The lower front and side faces of the dugouts are in play. The reflected ball must come back into the playing area to remain live. All other features of the dugouts are dead ball areas.
  2. The bullpens are in play.
  3. The scoreboard is considered a homerun so a ball that hits the scoreboard is considered out of the park.

 

PGSBL League

Policies:

  1. All participants must sign and adhere at all times to the league's code of conduct.
  2. Ejections are minimum +1 game, second offence is +3 games & third is indefinite. No appeals will be considered.
  3. The CN "Homer Horn", is not to be used beyond 10:00pm.
  4. A $1000 team league fee deposit is required before May 15, the balance of fees must be paid in full by July 01.
  5. Line ups need to be into the scorekeeper at least 15 minutes before game time.
  6. Baseball uniforms are required on the field.
  7. A team manager must be identified on the lineup.
  8. The schedule on the website will be the official schedule.
  9. Ties in the regular season standings will be broken first by the head to head record of the teams, then by runs for and against in their matchups.

General Rules:

  1. Play is by Baseball Canada rules, except as noted.
  2. Seven inning games, wood bats only. The youth team (Knights), can use approved metal bats.
  3. After 5 innings, or 4 1/2 if the home team is ahead, the 10-run mercy rule comes into effect.
  4. Re-entry is permitted where a player is incapacitated, provided there are no clean shirts on the bench. The opposing manager selects the player to be re-entered.
  5. For the youth team only (Knights), re-entry is permitted provided there are no clean shirts on the bench. The opposing manager selects the player to be re-entered.
  6. Players must be minimum 18 (turn 19 in the current calendar year) to be eligible to play for a men's team.  Youth players are only eligible to play for the Midget Knights and are NOT permitted to be on an active men's team roster.  Exceptions are if there is no youth team to play on and the player is 17 (turn 18 in the current calendar year), under executive review they may be accepted into the league.  Youth (Knights) Players may be picked up for single games if a team is short players.

Regular Season:

  1. No new inning to start after 2hrs 30mins from scheduled game time on any game. Telus Mobility's network time shall be the standard.  During double headers the time limit is 2 hours and 15 minutes.
  2. Where time permits, ties will be broken with international rules by starting the last out on 2nd, and 1 out beginning in the 8th inning. 
  3. Two out, courtesy runner for catcher is required. Must be the last out.
  4. Minimum seven of your own to play.
  5. Pick ups can not pitch.
  6. With a legal protest, the use of an ineligible player results in a game forfeiture. For the purposes of this rule, a legal protest is defined as a protest made before the last umpire leaves the field at the conclusion of the game.

Playoff Season:

  1. Best of five for each round.
  2. In the first round only, no new inning to start after 2hr 30mins. If tied, the game will continue as detailed in the regular season tie breaking format until a winner is determined.
  3. In the final rounds, play will continue until a winner is determined.
  4. Players/coaches must have participated in four regular season games to be eligible for playoffs. A list of eligible players is to be posted on the website before playoffs begin. Penalty: With a legal protest, the use of an ineligible player results in a game forfeiture. For the purposes of this rule, a legal protest is defined as a protest made before the last umpire leaves the field at the conclusion of the game.
  5. Courtesy runners are not permitted.
  6. No pickup players allowed for playoffs.
