Coach Gary Faber

I played ball growing up in Alberta and was fortunate to be part of one
Provincial championship team in a year to far back to remember. I have
coached fastball in Richmond Hill for nine years and prior to that for one year in Thornhill. My first year coaching was at the House League Level and I was fortunate to be part of a team with little talent but great on desire and a need to learn. The team did not win a single game all season but in the playoffs they were unbeatable and went on to win a most unlikely championship. It almost seemed like a light went on for these kids and that same light came on for me as coach. I haven't looked back, coaching eight years on a variety of Select/Rep teams (usually two every year). I have had many successes but I don't dwell on those. For me it's all about giving kids a chance to play competitive ball and have some fun doing it. My coaching philosophy is play hard, have fun and make some life long friends from this
wonderful team sport.

2002-2006 – coached House League Tyke and Mite Teams in Thornhill and Richmond Hill
2007 - Coached the Richmond Hill Squirt Select/Rep Team with Gary Faber.

Enjoy playing Fastball, golfing and spending time with my family.

Coaching Philosophy
We play equally to win and have fun. I want to build a team that has players the same age, so they will become good friends, and play together for the next 10 years. I enjoyed playing for many years because of the great friends on the team and the strong coaching. The coaches I had were roll models and taught me tp work hard, play hard and have fun. How to be develop a work ethic, be respectful, listen, and practise and develop to my maximum potential. I would like to give back to the game what I was fortunate to receive from it.
