(Loss) Black Eagles 12, Vancouver Mounties 13
Posted April 25, 2015
In a wild and woolly offensive game, the Mounties were determined not to return to the mainland empty-handed. Everything started fine for the Black Eagles. Matt Collett blasted a line drive to right field for a double bringing in Andy Weir and Jayden Wakeham. Luke Seginowich came in on a Mountie error and we left the inning with a 3-0 lead. Then in an second inning the Eagle boys would rather forget about, the Mounties hit bloopers into the outfield, collected base hits, walks, wild pitches, infield errors and everything else. Suddenly we were behind eight runs! The Black Eagles never panicked. Slowly, but steadily they started to come back. Matt Collett hit two more singles, scoring one and scoring himself. Trey Sjerven ripped a double in the third to score two. Noah Miller hit a line drive double to left field to score two. And Ben Mulchinock lofted a double to right field and eventually scored. The Black Eagles fought back with 13 hits and nine runs. But unbelievably, it wasn't enough and the rally fell short. Hello .500 ball.
