Cardinals Eliminated from Playoffs! In a very evenly matched series, Plato came out the victors, winning the 1st and 3rd games of the 1st round playoff matchup. Plato took game one 6-5. Troy Kohls pitched most of that one and YA used a controversial call to keep it close. Young America took game 2 with a score of 4-3. In that game, Aaron Cook threw great in his first ever post season town team performance. Tied into the 8th, YA used a balk on the Plato catcher and a clutch 2 out hit to take the lead. Game 3 was in YA's hands through 8 innings. Adam Kostecka had limited damage all day and had really settled in after giving up a 3rd inning homer to Meynerd. He was pulled though after giving up a lead off single to start the top of the 9th. JP Schwartz came in and got the 1st couple of outs. Then Joe Nix hit a towering shot to deep center and it dropped down over the back shoulder of Kraemer in CF, allowing the tyinig run to score. YA, as in most of the game, had chances late to end it, but lacked that big 2 out hit. Finally, in the 12th, the BlueJays errupted for 5 runs, ending the Cardinals season.
