Upcoming Games:
Countdown to State tourney, round 1

The Cardinals will be hosting an end of the season party this weekend, Saturday the 12th. First off, we'll begin the fun with putting up the fence screen and then cleaning up anything else in the park that needs cleaning......if you can't find something that needs cleaning, Brandon or Faye will! Then, we'll take care of some potential projects by our house across the road. All of that will be followed up by some beer and food consumation, probably involving Last Call in some way. The after work festivities begin around 6pm-ish for whatever fans want to come out. There is the possibility of a fish fry, pork chop on a stick feed, bean bags, and/or arm wrestling.

Season Over!

The Winsted Wildcats put an end to Young America's run in the regions and their season with an emfatic 11-1 win in 8 innings. The Wildcat bats that were held silent over the first weekend of regions exploded in the 3rd inning of the game and they didn't slow down. YA had no answer for the attack as Winsted blew up 4 different Cardinal pitchers.
Josh Anthony (draftee from Watertown) took a Franck high fastball and ushered it into the evergreens over the right field fence. 2 batters later, Joe Kley almost knocked over the new Glencoe scoreboard with a 2 run homer. A few hits later and Francks day was over. The Cats bombardment continued with mutliple doubles to all directions of the field, and then Marc Kohler lined a 2 run dinger over the left field fence. Then in the 8th, the Wildcats finally ended the game when a hard hit ball was fielded uncleanly by the Cardinals infield that was so solid all playoffs long. The eleventh run scored and just like that, YA was done in 2009.
On the other end, Josh Anthony kept the Cardinal bats in check both days (game suspended on Saturday b/c of terrential rains) as he only allowed 3 hits thru the 8 innings.
