Socko & Kitty burn the Devils
YA finished up their schedule with the North with a 3-1 win over the Red Devils of Watertown. While Socko (Tony Burt) managed to keep the Red Devils off balance throughout the night from the hill Kitty (Clint Aretz) led the Cardinals attack from the plate chipping in with 3 hits (one of which was a 2 run bomb) & a walk.
YA handles Carver
The Cardinal offense gave Adam Kostecka all he needed in terms of run support by putting 8 on the board against the Black Sox. Kostecka kept the Black Sox off the board until the seventh when he allowed his only run of the game off a solo homerun. Leading the way for the Cardinals offense was Brandon Stender, Eric Panning and Nik Franck all of whom notched to hits on the afternoon.
YA stumbles against Indians
The Cardinals dropped the crosstown rivalry by a score of 13-10. After jumping out to a 7-0 lead after two innings the Cardinals let the lead slip through their fingers while allowing 8 Indians to reach base on walks. JP Schwartz started on the hill and looked solid through 4 only to run out of gas in the 5th leading the way to Jon Werner. Werner labored through the next 3 innings eventually giving way to Nik Franck in the 8th. Pacing the Cardinal offense was Brandon Stender with 3 hits followed by Nik Franck who finished the game with 2 hits (both doubles) and three RBI's. Chet Maschke also added 2 hits in the game.
