Fall Ball Rosters now posted!

Please click on the News button on the left side of this page to see the rosters for the Sept 4th and 5th weekend. Note you must have paid your $100 fall ball registration fee already, OR you must provide a cheque for $100 before your first game, to be eligible to play. Cheques can be given to Irene McCuaig, Karen Anderson, Karen Russell or your coach.

 

Midget AAA Mariners crowned BC and now Western Canadian Champions!!

Team B.C. won the Gold in dramatic fashion, defeating the host team Saskatoon Cubs 6-5 in 10 innings. After falling behind 4-1 on the strength of a pair of Cubs triples, the B.C. team from Victoria got a couple of runs of their own to make it 4-3. The Cubs added another run to take a 5-3 lead in to the bottom of the 7th inning, but B.C. was able to tie it up 5-5 with 2 outs on the board, stranding the winning run at 3rd. B.C. then had the winning run in scoring position in each of the 3 extra innings before finally scoring the winning run with 2 outs in the bottom of the 10th. Congratulations to the Victoria Mariners team and organization for a fine ending to an excellent season.

Mariner Fall Ball

Mariner Fall Ball is about to get underway. If you have not yet registered, please do so by clicking on the Fall Ball button on the left side of this page. You will be prompted to register on line. You then mail in a check to the address listed or bring the cheque with you to the first Fall Ball game or practice.  The Fall Ball Schedule is shown under the News button and Schedule buttons on the left side of this page. Team Rosters will be defined very soon and look for those to be announced on this site shortly.

Premier Mariners win BC PBL Provincial Title!

Led by an outstanding 1 hit pitching performance by Cole Holt, the Premier Mariners today won the BC Premier Baseball League Championship title with a 5-0 victory over the North Delta Blue Jays.  The Mariners jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back, cruising to their first BCPBL title since 2004. Catcher Connor Moughtin continued to have a hot bat in this one, and led the M's offensively with a 3 for 3 day at the plate.  3B Scott Jones and SS Jesse Hodges chipped in with 2 singles each.

With the win Holt earned tournament MVP honours.

Congratulations go out to the coaching staff and players for a very successful season.

A big thanks goes out to the Vancouver Canadians and the PBL staff for hosting a well run and enjoyable tournament at Nat Bailey stadium.
