Countdown to OPENING DAY 2009

Welcome to the Trousdale County Baseball Web Site.
Home of the Yellow Jackets.
CLASS A STATE TOURNAMENT 2005 & 2006

JACKETS GO 1-1 IN SHORT WEEK OF ACTION

The Jackets opened last week with a trip to traditionally rich Upperman High.  UHS has virtually everyone back from their AA sub-state team in 2008.  The Bees got on the board early with two runs in the first inning off Jacket starter Dillion Kirby.  Kirby pitched four innings before being lifted and replaced by Tony Hood.  Hood pitched the fifth and Jordan Halliburton pitched the sixth.  Offensively the Jacket bats were quiet in the first three innings but woke up in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings to make a comeback that got the Jackets to within 5-4 but the ralley ended and UHS got an insurance run in the bottom half of the sixth inning.  Jacket bats went 3 up - 3 down with three Ks in the last frame.  Kirby took the lost for the visitors as their overall record fell to 2-1.  Tommy Spears and Allen Bradshaw each had a pair of hits.

Last Friday the Jackets opened district play as they traveled to Watertown High.  The Jackets jumped on the home Tigers in the first but the Tigers matched that effort with three runs of their own in the bottom half of the first inning to take a 3-2 lead after one.  From there it was all TCHS as the Jackets piled up runs.  Senior Wesley Woodard went 3 for 3 with 2 doubles, a single, and two walks.  Senior centerfielder Keenan Davis went 2 for 3 with a single and a 3-run homer while driving in 4 runs.  Sophomore Allen Bradshaw got the start and went four innings in picking up his second win of the year.  Anthony Spears pitched the fifth and sixth innings as the Jackets ran their record to 3-1, 1-0.

VISIT FROM THE "GREEN PLAGUE" ON MONDAY

Perinnal Class A and district power Friendship Christian will visit TCHS in a matchup of top 20 ranked teams.  The start time is set for 4:30.  Junior Anthony Spears gets the start for the Jackets.

The Yellow Jackets opened their 2009 season with an undefeated week as

The Jacket offense started sluggish before laying down back-to-back-bunts in the 3rd inning that got things going.  Senior Wesley Woodard finished the day 3 for 4 at the plate to pace the home team.
