Welders Services, Inc. was founded in 1975 by our current President, Daniel Mulhern, with major emphasis at that time on the sale and repair of welding equipment and supplies. working out of a garage with a single pickup truck, Mr. Mulhern slowly began building loyalty and friendships with industry leaders in the Fort Wayne and surrounding area.
In 1984, the company purchased the assets of American Welding, giving Welders Services, Inc. the proper customer and asset base to enter full force into the gas distribution business. With our focus remaining on exceptional service, Welder Services, Inc. continued growing into a major player in the industrial and medical gas spectrum in the Fort Wayne and the surrounding area.
Our expansion efforts continued in 1987, with the purchase of a small distributor in the Huntington, Indiana area. As the industrial sector grew in this area, our aggressive, customer oriented attitude paid major dividends. Recognizing the potential and past growth, today we operate from a state of the art facility that was built by the company in 1998.
In 1998, we made a decision to become a more complete gas supplier and entered into the propane gas market. An 18,000 gallon vessel, a bobtail, and several hundred cylinders were placed into service giving us the opportunity to offer our customer base a more diversified mix of products.
In 2000 Welder Services, Inc. opened its fourth location in the region on the north side of Fort Wayne. It is conveniently located on West Coliseum Blvd near much of the industry on the north side of Fort Wayne. We feel this added location will further facilitate our desire to grow in the area and to provide an increased level of service and availability to our customer base.
Our actions in the past have led us to become one of the largest, most complete independent welding distributors in Indiana. Our continuing goal is to provide products and services to help, not only Welder Services, Inc. continue to grow, but also provide our customers the best possible service at competitive pricing thus allowing them the resources to grow as well.
