Chute is a 2001 graduate of Chelsea High School, Chelsea, IA. Chute's collegiate career includes Kirkwood Community College, University of South Dakota and Briar Cliff College. In 2004, Chute was named 1st Team All-Conference at the University of South Dakota. In 2005, Chute was named 2nd Team All-conference at Briar Cliff. In 2005, Chute's Briar Cliff team went to the NAIA World Series, but were defeated. Chute joined the Vermillion Red Sox in 2003, and was a member of both the 2003 and 2004 Class "B" State Champion Red Sox teams, Chute was named Most Valuable Player at the 2004 State Tournament. In 2005, at the conclusion of the Amateur season, Chute ws picked up by the Sioux City Explorers to play the remainder of the Northern League season. Chute was also a member of the 2006 Class A State Champion Vermillion Red Sox and was named to the South Dakota Class A All-Tournament Team in 2006. In 2012, Chute will play his 10th Season with the Red Sox.
