Posted Jun 29/13 - Thunder continue winning ways!

In a game that the Thunder team played at it's home field as the visitors after switching fields due to rain, the Thunder wasted some early offensive opportunities only to explode offensivley in the 6th, and cruise to a 13-7 victory over the Germantown Jr. Warhawks Blue.  In the top of the first, all 4 batters for the Thunder reached but 3 runners were wiped out on the bases.  Gavcin Hinckley scored the lone run in the first on an RBI single by Lukas Broske.  The Thunder would be held without a run for the next 2 innings while the Germantown team put up 2 runs off of starter Ayden Spykstra, taking the lead 2-1 after 3 innings.  The Thunder would tie it at 2 in the top of the 4th on a bases loaded groundout by Reid Woods that scored Joey Pettit, and take the lead in the top of the 5th when Caden Bast and Ayden Spykstra reached with a walk and single, both scoring on passed balls.

In the bottom of the 5th, Germantown would cut the Thunder lead to 4-3 when they tallied a run off of Gavin Hinckley.  In the 6th, the Thunder took complete control of the game with a 9 run inning.  Every Thunder player in the lineup except 2 scored in the inning and every Thunder player but 1 reached base.  A 3 run double by Pettit and a 2 run single by Doedens were the decisive blows in the inning.  Germantown would add 2 runs in each of the 6th and 7th innings but it wouldn't be enough to stop the Thunder's winning streak.  On the night the Thunder collected 11 hit and walked 10 more times offensivley.  The Thunder has a key game Monday night at 7:45 against the Brookfield Bulldogs.  Game time is 7:45!
