Mavericks 10 run rule the Red Sox in 5 innings
The Mavericks would score early and often against the Berkeley Red Sox. Nick Myers would start the game by reaching first base on a error by the shortstop, Will Raines would single to right field moving Myers to third base. With Chase Norman at bat, Will would steal second base, Chase would then hit sac fly to right field to score Myers from third base. Luke Weber then singled to left field to score Will Raines, the next two batters would record outs, and after one inning, the Mavericks would hold a 2-0 lead. The Mavericks would bat around in the second inning. Andrew Memmott would double to start off the inning, and then Andrew would take third on a wild pitch to J.E. Satterfield, with one out, Dillon Whitaker would reach first base on a throwing error by the shortstop, scoring Memmott. John Mark Renfrow would draw a four pitch walk, then with Nick Myers at the plate Whitaker and Renfrow would steal, Myers would then single to left field scoring the two runners. Chase Norman would come to plate with two outs and triple to deep right center field, scoring Myers. Luke Weber comes to the plate and draws a full count walk. Reed Rohlman would come in to run for Weber, with Colby Painter at the plate, Rohlman would steal 2nd base and Norman would steal home, Painter with a full count would reach out and hit double down the left field line scoring Rohlman, the next batter would fly out and making the score 8-1. The Mavericks would not score in the 3rd inning. In the 4th inning Will Raines would draw a four pitch walk, and move down to 2nd base on a wild pitch, with Chase Norman at the plate, Norman would triple again to centerfield driving in Will Raines. Luke Weber would then drive in Norman with a 5-3 ground out. The inning would end two batters later, making the score 10-1. The Red Sox would add a run in the top of the 5th inning. With one out J.E. Satterfield would walk, and then Dillon Whitaker would receive a four pitch walk. Needing to score two runs to end this game with to 10 run mercey rule, John mark Renfrow would crush a double to right center, scoring both Satterfield and Whitaker, and ending the game with a 12-2 victory. Perry Case would pitch all five inning, allowing 2 earned runs and striking out 5 batters. Great job Mavericks. |
