FIRST PERIOD

Riels opened up the scoring 25 seconds in when Glen Young forced the puck past the defense, cycled the

puck to Brian Michaels where he found Michael Gorrie in the slot where he banged in the puck past net

minder Luke Sirant.

Jets then tied it up 8:50 in the frame on the power play Rowan Versavel from Ryan Miskiewicz.

The line of Brian Michaels, Michael Gorrie and Glen Young continued their hard work when Michaels

finished off a great passing play from Gorrie and Young at 11:20 of the period.

Jets scored at 12:56 by Ryan Lussier unassisted to tie the game at two. The first period came to an end

where the Riels outshot the Jets 12 – 8.

SECOND PERIOD

The Riels came out flying in the second working hard throughout the whole period but couldn’t find the

mesh in the first 13 minutes. Brian Dies had himself a great game making things happen every shift. His

work ethic was unreal. At 13:48 on the power play, Riels made quick work when Brian Michaels found

Sean Christensen coming across from the point on a beautiful one timer to put it passed net minder Sirant

on as assist coming from Michael Gorrie.

The Riels kept on pressing but couldn’t get another on the power play late in the period.

Then the Jets not quitting got the puck deep in the Riels zone when Ryan Miskiewicz found Ryan Lussier

in the slot at 19:22 on the clock from assist coming from Jesse Adams. That deadlocked the game back at

3 – 3 after tow periods. The Riels out shot the Jets 14 – 7.

THIRD PERIOD

The Riels struck first in the third when rookie defenceman Matt Morency made a perfect stretch pass to

Brett Charette on the breakaway when Charette blasted the puck top chedder, goaltender Sirant had no

chance.

The Riels played strong throughout the period but again couldn’t put the Jets away when at 16:05 of the

third on the power play Ryan Miskiewicz tied the game again at 4 – 4 with assists coming from Lussier

and Versavel.

A minute and 19 seconds later the line of Young, Michaels & Gorrie forced the play deep, buzzing

around the Jets net when Glen Young scored the winning goal at 17:24 with assists coming from Sean

Christensen and Brian Michaels. The Riels outshot the Jets 40 – 29.
