Dustin Houle had a great year this past season, so good that it has landed him a spot one of the top teams in the PBL (Premier Baseball League). Dustin, 15, has joined the Langley Blaze in his grade 11 year of his young career. He had a good showing at the Okanagan Regional ID camp.
He sparked some interest from several PBL clubs with his regular season performance. He was asked to go out for the Top 40 camp, and was named a reserve for that team. He was also elected as one of the top 8 players in the Midget AAA National All Star team. He was not able to make the trip to nationals, but did get a chance to go out and practice with the team before they left out east.
Dustin is a well-rounded player with a lot of natural ability. But he doesn't let his raw skills get him by. He spent a lot of time in the gym last off season, and his hard work didn't stop there. If ever I called him through out the year, he was d either at the park taking extra hacks, or at the gym working out. Houle is perfect example of hard work paying off.
Dustin has now left Penticton Secondary for Langley Senior Secondary. He'll be living with a Langley Blaze coach, and getting in lots of baseball through their fall/winter programs. The Blaze get a student of the game that wishes to learn as much as possible. I believe he will make a good fit into their program.

Congratulations, Dustin from all the SOMBA Tigers!!
