The Sin City Titan's (2-3) won their first games of the season by sweeping the Angels in a double-header on Sunday (8-4, 8-1). In the first game it was all Josh Levine (1-1). After walking the first batter of the game and allowing him to score on a wild pitch and single, Josh then shut the door on the Angels. Throwing a complete game gem striking out 7 and giving up just 3 hits in the game earning his first win for the Titans. Offensive support came from Chris Gschwender who was 2 for 3 with a double and 3 RBI's. Mike Finateri added two singles and RBI. And Alex Murphy contributed 2 singles.
In the second game of the double-header it was more good pitching and timely hitting with Clay Schmeisser (1-0) making his Titan pitching debut going a solid 4 plus innings of work. Allowing just two earned runs on 7 hits. Clay needed help in the 5th inning and got it from (Lefty) Chris Gschwender. Chris came in with the bases loaded and no outs with the score 5-3 at the time. After a couple bloop hits Chris closed the door on the Angels the rest of the inning and final 2 innings of the game earning the save. But Chris wasn't done just helping on the mound. His HOT bat stayed hot going 2 for 3 with his second double and 6th RBI of the double-header. CJ Najera also had 3 hits in the game and Joe Keiser, and John Carra each had 2 hits. And a special hats off to Jason Gschwender for stepping up and catching both games of the double-header. Your players of the game for the double-header are Josh Levine in the first game and Chris Gschwender in the second game. The Titans have next weekend off for the Labor Day weekend.
