Posted Aug 20/12 - Titan's get no relief in 10-7 loss

The Sin City Titan's played their first mid-day game of the season in the Las Vegas heat Sunday, and it started out pretty cool jumping to an early lead in the first inning with singles by Jeremy Hybert, Jon Reed, and Chris Gschwender taking a 2-0 lead. The Titan's added another run in the 3rd inning behind those same hitters plus hits by Joe Keiser and Ernesto Ruiseco. Starting pitcher Chris Gschwender was cruising until the 4th inning when a pitch up in the zone went up over the fence making the score 3-2 Titan's. The A's took the lead in the 6th inning scoring 2 runs. The Titan's came back in the of the 6th tying the game with two 2 out hits by Alex Dinglasan and Mike Ellson. By that time Chris Gschwender had gone as far as he could in 104 degree heat and needed to be relieved. Carlos Mazon gave it a great effort but was able to supply the relief giving up 3 runs in the top of the 8th . The Titan's who always show heart came back in the bottom of the 8th with 3 runs of their own to tie the game again 7-7. But in the top of the 9th Carlos was unable to hold The A's hitters giving up 3 more runs. The Titan's unable to pull off another come back in the bottom of the 9th took their 3rd loss 10-7. They say you should now award a player of the game if you lose, but if a player stands out a player stands out. This player reached base 5 times Joe Keiser!

Player of the game: Joe Keiser

Titan Player note: Jon Reed now leading the team with a .520 batting avg.
