Warriors Topple Undefeated Tift Area

The SGA Warriors took down a tough Tift Area team prevailing by a score of 14-7. The warriors are now 4-1 winning two key games the last two weeks. The SGA warriors have stood tall and fought hard against two very tough AAA opponents, who were much larger in number and size but not heart. The SGA fans were treated to a very tough game Friday night as the tenacious and physical warriors never quit and continued to find a way to win. The defense continues to make make plays and the offense rack up yards. Will Warren and Stephen Jackson again led the warriors rushing attack. Back-up QB JR Reid O'Hearn did a good coming in late in the second quarter to lead the warriors to victory. The warriors defense forced three turnovers against Tift Area with the last one being crucial. With under six minutes to go in the fourth quarter, LB Hunter Phillips deflected a TIft Area pass and DB Teel Massey was hustling to intercept the deflection and returned it down inside the Tift Area ten yard line . Three plays later SR Running Back Will Warren punched it in to put the warriors up 14-7. Kicker Austin Cowart was perfect on the night making both extra point attempts. However, the game was not over until the final play as the defense held strong and ended Tift Area's final attempt to score. The leading tacklers for the warrior defense were LB Garrett Vann, DT Thomas Vines, and LB Cabe Rathel.
