| BURLINGTON, IA- The Burlington Bees have added RHP Tyler Vail to their
starting rotation. He joins the Bees from the Athletics' Extended
Spring Training Program in Arizona. To make room for him on the roster
the Athletics have sent RHP Seth Frankoff to Arizona.
Vail comes to Burlington as the highest high school pitcher selected by the A's in the 2010 draft out of Notre Dame High School and Easton, PA. He went 0-2 with a 3.13 ERA with the Arizona Rookie League A's in 2010. This addition now gives the Bees 6 of the top 10 picks of Oakland's 2010 draft. SS Yordy Cabrera (2nd), 3B Tony Thompson (6th), RHP Blake Hassebrock (8th), 1B A.J. Kirby-Jones (9th) and RHP Josh Bowman (10th) are the other top picks currently in a Burlington uniform. |
