| Posted Apr 11/12 - Dodgers Lose to Cloverdale Black in Home Opener |
| The Langley-Aldergrove Dodgers were defeated by the heavy-hitting Cloverdale Black Spurs in the inaugural season opener. The relative youth of the home team was evident as the team had difficulty in shaking off a rough first inning and eventually lost 18 to 1 to the Black Spurs in 5 innings. Over the night the Black Spurs hit two home runs over the double height fence in straight away center field. The first was off starter John Lipp and one off Jackson Lapointe. Other pitchers on the night included Cole Cantelon and Ethan Kano McGregor who both pitched well in relief. Other bright spots included the play of Sean Donnelly, who went 2 for 2, with a double and single, and Mitchell Taylor who caught the Spurs napping and made a smart baseball play scoring easily from second on a routine infield play.
Next Up: the Dodgers travel on Sunday to Cloverdale Ball Park to face the Cloverdale Red Spurs. The first game of the double header is scheduled for 11:30 am (Show Time is 10:00 am).
