Posted Jul 25/12 - Rawlings Cardinals Compete at Cooperstown Dreams Park
The 2012 Cardinals closed out the season playing in Cooperstown, New York. The boys played outstanding baseball and went 3-4 for the week. Of their four loses, two came against teams that made the final four. The others included a 10 inning 2-1 loss and in the elimination game an 8-6 loss in which the 'lil Birds were out homered. Every boy made plays that they will remember forever and had the time of their lives in the barracks with their team mates. The Cardinals finished 49th out of 104 teams in the tournament. The seasons accomplishments included an 11-1 league record securing the National Red Division Championship. The Cardinals had 8 different starting pitchers record wins during league play. In tournament play, the 'lil Birds won two titles along with a third place finish in another. The team finished the 2012 campaign with a record of 34 wins 17 losses and 2 ties.
