Posted Mar 11/10 - Tigers sign 2011 baseball recruit
Thu, Mar 11, 2010 at 2:07 PM - [Baseball]
Campbellsville University has picked up a left-handed pitcher for 2011, 5-foot-11 junior college transfer Andrew Shoemaker of Boise, Idaho. Shoemaker will transfer to Campbellsville after two seasons at Treasure Valley Community College in Oregon.

Last spring at Treasure Valley, he collected a 3.52 ERA and 3-3 record in 11 games. He struck out 54 through 70 innings worked.
In the summer of 2009, he collected an 8-1 record and struck out 57 through 60 innings of work, while posting a 1.65 ERA in summer ball. He was selected to the American Legion All-Star Game. The previous summer, he was a member of the Idaho AA State Champions and American Legion Regional runner-up Boise Gems, posting a 4-2 record and 2.18 ERA through 45 innings. He struck out 47.

Shoemaker was also selected to the NWAACC Sophomore Showcase All-Star Game this past fall.
"He has great pitch ability and has the ability to throw three pitches for a strike, with tremendous movement on his fastball," CU assistant coach Chris Lewis said. " He comes from a great junior college program, which preaches the same character aspects as we do, so he will fit into our program immediately. He's a proven competitor, who still has a ton of upside, and will make an immediate impact to our pitching staff in 2011."
