Campbellsville University will open the 2010 season in February where 2009 left off - ranked No. 8 in the NAIA Baseball Coaches' Poll. The Tigers have 503 points in the 2010 preseason poll released Tuesday.


The Tigers finished the 2009 season with a 39-12 record and its fifth-straight Mid-South Conference Championship. CU went on to advance to the NAIA World Series for the first time in program history.

This time last year, Campbellsville received one point in the 2009 preseason poll. The Tigers broke into the Top 25 for the first time in 2009 on March 17, coming in at No. 12 with a 16-2 record. The Tigers broke into the Top 10 the next week at No. 8 and remained in the Top 10 the remainder of the season. This is the eighth-straight poll  for CU to appear in the Top 10.

CU opens the 2010 season with a weekend series Feb. 12-14 at Auburn University-Montgomery.
