For the 2nd time in three years, Coors Light took home the BMSL B division championship; its 3rd overall (in 12 seasons).
One night after a flat performance, Coors Light came out with the emotion they sorely lacked in their Game 3 loss. The fired up team broke out to an early 11-2 lead after two, but the pesky Hive battled back and cut it to 15-8 after 5. However, the veteran squad responded right back in the 6th and, ultimately, it was Steve Perkins’s 3 run HR (his 2nd of the game, which put Coors Light up 18-8) that broke the opposition’s will. 24-12 was the final tally, in a game in which Coors Light never trailed.
Once again, there were many offensive contributors but it was the combined 8-9/3HR/14 RBI clutch performance by Perkins/Pete Robillard that drove the offense in the final game of the season.
Joe Nichols 4-5, 2B, 3B, HR(#4), 2 RBI
Steve Perkins 4-4, BB, 2 HR(#6/#7), 7 RBI
Buff Robillard 3-4, BB, RBI
Scott Umbrianna 3-5, 2B
Jim Antonetti 4-4, 2 2B, 3B, SF, 4 RBI
Pete Robillard 4-5, 2B, HR(#6), 7 RBI
Ryan Ostiguy 1-3, 2 BB, 2B, 2 RBI
Joe Voci 2-5
Bobby McCarthy 1-5
Smokey Wiener 0-2, 2 BB
John Powers 0-2, 2 BB, RBI
Perkins rebounded from his Game 3 defeat with another solid performance on the hill. He finishes the year with a remarkable 14-3 record (4-1 in post season play).
Coors Light finishes the 2011 season 24-11 (.686), its best overall record since 2003 (22-10; .688).
