Pitching, defense, and timely hitting keyed a 14-11 Coors Light victory in game one of the BMSL B Finals Tuesday night. A seven run third was the big inning for the team (where Coors got 9 of their 21 hits), highlighted by a big two out, two run 2B by Smokey Wiener. Coors was up 9-3 after that and never trailed again. Two late HRs by Pete Robillard (who continued his breakout season) and a 2 run 2B by Brian Brown in the 6th provided the insurance Coors needed to hold on.
Coors left a number of runners stranded and could have put the game out of reach earlier with another one or two big hits, but it produced enough to take home game one. Pete Robillard was again player of the game going a perfect 4-4 on the night. Ryan Ostiguy was also perfect; reaching base 4 times from the nine hole.
Joe Nichols 2-4, 2B, RBI
Steve Perkins 2-4, 2B
Buff Robillard 1-1, 2 BB, SF, RBI
Jim Antonetti 1-4, RBI
Scott Umbrianna 2-4, 2 2B, RBI
Brian Brown 2-4, 2B, 3 RBI
Pete Robillard 4-4, 2 HR (#4/#5), 4 RBI
Bobby McCarthy 1-4
Ryan Ostiguy 3-3, BB, 2B, RBI
Smokey Wiener 2-4, 2B, 2 RBI

Perkins was again masterful on the hill and improved to 12-2 on the year (2-0 in post season play), as the defense played one of its best games of the year; making only a handful of errors.
Coors Light faces off against The Hive again in Game 2 of the series Wednesday Night @8pm, as they inch closer to their 3rd BMSL championship.
