Team Avalache went to Sarasota, FL this past weekend to play in the Elite 10 Battle of the Belts. The team started the weekend off with a win against a top opponent, the Florida Battalion, by a score of 8-5. The next game was against another top team, Central Florida Lugnuts, but the outcome was a loss ending pool play 1 and 1.

Bracket play began Saturday night against the hometown Sarasota Sharks. Team Avalanche played well winning the game 9-1 setting up a Sunday showdown against the number 1 team in the nation, MFS Legends.

The game was a mixture of emotions as calls went against the team all game long. The team continued fighting hard battling the MFS but eventually the mountain of bad calls was too much to overcome and the team was sent to the losers bracket with a long road to the championship ahead.

The next game was against the SWFL United, and the team never could find high gear and lost to the United 11-6.

Not the weekend we had hoped for, but the team showed heart and determination and will be prepared for the next tournament in Oldsmar.
