| The West Kootenay Diamondbacks started the 2009 playoffs with a huge 10-0 win over the visiting Mead #1 Panthers. Jordan Roblin pitched a complete game 4 hit shutout and Dallas Calvin hit the first pitch he saw in the bottom of the first over the right center field wall to give the Diamondbacks a 2-0 lead that proved to be all they needed. Tanner Rotschy went 4 for 4 at the plate including a double and scored 4 times. The defense helped Roblin's cause by making several highlight reel plays to preserve the shutout. Game 2 is scheduled for Thursday night in Spokane. |
