NUTANA, SK – With a depleted bench, the Cards were hoping to just compete with the high flying Muenster Red Sox. However, the Cards did more than compete, handing the Sox a rare defeat, beating them 13-3 last night at Nutana No. 2. Cardinal starter Ryan Olchoway was solid on the mound giving up three runs over four innings. In his last inning Olchoway loaded the bases, but the Cards defence came up big turning a 4-2-3 double play to end the inning. Garrett Krawchuk came in to mop things up pitching two scoreless innings. Missing three players from the line up did not phase head coach Greg Krawchuk. “You’ve got to be able to adjust in this league. It’s going to throw you curveballs all the time and you have to be able to hit the curveball.”
The Cardinals are idle until Thursday when, they are scheduled to play the A’s.
