Posted Jun 6/14 - CARDS END UGLY NIGHT WITH RARE TIE

NUTANA, SK – The good news is the Cards did not lose the game.  The bad news is the Cards did not win the game.  In an ugly error filled game, that no one appeared to want, the Cards hung on to salvage a tie.  Or, since the score clock wasn’t working and no one on the home team cared enough to write anything down, we think the game ended in a tie.  The best guess is that when the dust settled at the end of the 6th the final score was 14-14.

Graham Forrester went 3-1/3 innings for the Cards, pitching well, but getting no help from the people behind him, especially in the bottom of the first inning, when the A’s scored a bunch of runs off Cardinal errors.  Shawn Lewis came in for an inning of relief, giving up an unearned run, before Bryce Libke finished the game on the mound for the Cardinals.  The Cards looked like they were going to win the game when they scored 3 runs in the top of the 6th, two off a hard hit single by Ryan Crilly.  However, the A’s answered back in their half of the inning scoring 3 to, we think, tie the game.

The Cards are now idle until Tuesday June 9 when they take on Muenster.
