In their best game of the year, the Cardinals defeated the Sherwood Park Athletics 6-5 in dramatic style when Reid Brittnell brought in the winning run in the bottom of the 7th. Down 5-2, the inning started with a lead off single by Tyler Stadnichuk. Garrett Krawchuk then got a single to put runners at the corners. Krawchuk stole second on the 1st pitch and was moved to third on a single by Nolan Machibroda scoring Stadnichuk. Bryden Gore hit a double to score Krawchuk and push Machibroda to third. With the Cards down by 1, Machibroda tried to score on a well hit grounder by Reid Brittnell, but was tagged out at home. Gore and Brittnell remained at 1st and 2nd until Ryan Crilly got a walk to load the bases. With Graham Forrester at bat, Gore scored on a past ball and then a few pitches later, Brittnell scored the winning run when the A's catcher could not squeeze a low pitch.
The Cardinals next game is 9:00 am tommorow against the Edmonton Cardinals.
