What a difference a few days makes. On Saturday, the Cardinals could do no wrong against the Humboldt Dodgers, but last night the Dodgers took it to the Cardinals beating them 10 to 1. Graham Forrester started on the mound for the Cards and went 2 innings with 5 Ks. Reid Brittnell then came in for two scoreless innings and 5Ks. At this point things were looking good as Ethan Meyer scored on a single by Tyler Stadnichuk to take a 1-0 lead at the end of four. Ryan Crilly started the 5th for the Cardinals, giving up 6 runs, 4 unearned, in 2/3 of an inning. Garrett Krawchuk pitched the last third of the fourth giving up 2 unearned runs. Ethan Meyer finished the game with 2 innings allowing 2 runs with 3 Ks. The highlight of the game for the Cardinals was a 4-3 double play by Tyler Stadnichuk in the top of the 7th.
The Cards hit the road for a tournament in St. Albert. Their first game is a 3:00 pm Saturday afternoon start at Legion Field.
