| PFLUGERVILLE, Texas - The 37-0 Pflugerville Panthers, ranked No. 2 in the TABC/TexPreps Basketball Magazine 5A poll, will open the 2012 State playoffs with a Bi-District game against Akins HS (of Austin) on Monday, Feb. 13. That game, scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip, will take place at PHS's Panther Gym and will be the final home game of the year for the Panthers. Pflugerville is the District 16-5A champions, going 12-0, with Akins (9-22) placed fourth in District 15-5A and got the final playoff spot for that district with a 2-7 mark. 2012 Texas UIL 5A Basketball Playoffs: Bi-District Championship Pflugerville (37-0) vs. Akins (9-22) Date/Time: Monday, Feb. 13, 7 p.m. Site: Pflugerville High School Tickets: $4 Adults $2 Students Teachers: Free with school ID District 16/TABC/TGCA/THSCA passes accepted ----------------------------------------------------- PFLUGERVILLE'S PROUD POSTSEASON HISTORY: Among its postseason honors, the Panther basketball program has earned 22 district championships, a total of 23 Bi-District championships including eight in a row (2005-2011), and 19 area championships. Advancing to the state Regional Tournament (final 16/final 8) a total of 16 times, the Panthers have played in the regional finals 14 times, including last year. Pflugerville has claimed a spot in the State Tournament (final four) six times. |
