| SALADO, Texas-- Playing in a varsity tournament, the undefeated Pflugerville JV squad advanced to the Salado Tournament championship game Saturday afternoon and will face host Salado for the title. The Panther JV defeated the Argyle varsity, 66-40 and the stopped the Smithville varsity, 65-32 in tourney play Thursday and Friday. Pflugerville, now 15-0, and the Salado varsity squad play at 4 p.m. Saturday in the championship. Against Argyle, a duo of sophomore guards led the way with a combined 31 points as Kalea King scored 16 points and Stephanie Onyeje had 15. Sophomore post T'iarra Pitts added six points and a game-high seven blocks. In the win over Smithville, junior guard Destini Oakmon scored 13 points while Pitts added 11 points and five blocks and Onyeje finished with 11 points and five steals. |
