| AUSTIN, Texas-- The state-ranked Pflugerville Panthers opened up play at the eight-team Bowie Tournament with a 62-33 victory over San Marcos in pool play Thursday evening. Pflugerville, ranked No. 6 in this week's TABC/Tex Preps Magazine 5A state poll, improves to 12-0 with the win. The tourney, taking place at Bowie HS in south Austin, continues with pool play Friday (Dec. 2) and concludes with bracket play Saturday (Dec. 3). The balanced P'ville scoring attack saw three players finish in double figure scoring, as junior forward Diana Omozee had 11 points and junior guards Brenisha Payne and Taylor Ross chipped in with 10 points apiece. In Friday's pool play, the Panthers face McCallum at 11:30 am, followed by a 5:30 p.m. contest against Leander. The other teams in the Bowie field include Reagan, Cedar Ridge, Stony Point and host Bowie. Saturday's schedule will be announced Friday evening. |
