PFLUGERVILLE, Texas-- Junior forward Diana Omozee and senior guard Jasmyn Booker combined for 29 points to lead state-ranked Pflugerville to a 53-26 victory over Richland Friday morning in the final game of pool play at the Greater Austin Area Tournament. Omozee netted a career-best 18 points and Booker added 11.

Pflugerville, now 6-0, advances to Friday night's 6:30 p.m. quarterfinals of the tourney to face Vandergrift HS, and the game will take place at McNeil HS in Austin. The tourney semifinals and championship game are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 19 at McNeil. That schedule will be finalized after Friday night's quarterfinal action.

The Panthers shot 54 percent from the floor, hitting 21 of 39 field goal attempts. P'ville held a 27-15 lead at intermission behind eight points from Booker and held Richland to only 11 points in the final 16 minutes of play.

Omozee, Booker and senior post Itiana Taylor each pulled down six rebounds. Taylor finished with seven points.

PFLUGERVILLE JV AND FRESHMEN CONCLUDE AUSTIN CLASSIC PLAY UNDEFEATED

In games also played at Pflugerville on Friday morning, the Pflugerville junior varsity and freshmen teams both went 3-0 to close out play at the Greater Austin Classic. The JV and frosh tourneys were a round-robin format.

The Panther JV, now 6-0, defeated Westlake 81-26 as sophomore guard Kalea King netted a season-high 17 points. Sophomore forward Ariana Marks added 12 points and sophomore post Tiara Pitts had 11.

The Pflugerville freshmen Gold (A) squad beat Westlake, 52-26 as guard Alyssa Washington had 16 points and Osayuwa Evbaryiro finished with 12 points. 

Next opponent for both teams will be Midway HS on Tuesday, Nov. 22, at Pflugerville  on Parents Night. Both games are at 5:30 p.m.; the Panther freshmen Blue (B) team will host Westlake in a 7 p.m. contest.
